Pro Vice Chancellor

Message from the Pro Vice Chancellor

Agriculture is not only a livelihood for us — it is a science, a discipline, and a promise for the future. As a researcher who has spent over two decades studying insect pests and eco-friendly crop protection, I have seen how careful, evidence-based work can transform a farmer's harvest, and in turn, a family's future.

Kurigram Agricultural University was established in 2021 to bring that same spirit of scientific inquiry to the char lands and river basins of the north. Our region faces real challenges — flooding, erosion, and shifting soils. But these challenges are also opportunities for research, innovation, and growth.

As Pro Vice Chancellor, my focus is to strengthen the academic and research environment of this university. I want our students, especially our young women scholars, to feel confident stepping into laboratories, fields, and classrooms alike. Good research begins with curiosity. And curiosity grows best in a place that feels safe, supportive, and inspiring.

I believe every student here can become a skilled scientist, a thoughtful teacher, or a compassionate leader for our farming communities. My role is simple: to help nurture that potential, one student, one study, one season at a time.

I invite our teachers, students, officers, and staff to walk this journey together. Let us build a university known not only for its degrees, but for the real solutions it brings to Kurigram's fields and families.
